Home Secretary: Freedom of speech is a sometimes right to be reserved as a treat for cheat days
daimoon.bsky.social
just because you have a freedom "doesn't mean you have to use it at every moment of every day"

Just roll that sentence around your mental palate and taste the underlying logic
Laura Kuenssberg asks if it is a "dark step" to limit the fundamental right to protest?
Mahmood answers that just because you have a freedom "doesn't mean you have to use it at every moment of every day".
Under her new plans people will still have the right to protest, Mahmood adds.

This is HORRIBLE.

It's not Jewish people's fault, what's being done to Gaza.

And it's not Gazans fault, What's been done to Manchester.

It's not hard to avoid victim blaming both sides, and it's beyond disappointing that apparently Mahmood isn't capable of understanding that.

NEW: Home secretary Shabana Mahmood urges pro-Palestine protesters to consider not taking part in marches this weekend.

"Imagine if you lost a loved one to a terror attack in this country ... sometimes a little unity, a little solidarity, some love to other people is required"

Done. Women lying around in ponds is in fact a pretty robust system of government, and it pisses me off to see them being pushed around like this.
miavee.bsky.social
Trying to remove women from ponds would surely also throw the sword economy into absolute shambles, with knock-on impacts on the amount of people able to go on noble quests to vanquish beasts and things of that nature, you raise an important and timely concern!

You will need to click a button in an email sent after filling out the consultation to confirm your response.

I'm hoping this will help to filter out some of the spam/bot responses from the well-funded vocal minority that is the anti-trans lobby, but would hate for genuine responses to be missed.

TERFs are trying to bully a beloved London public swimming space into throwing out their longstanding traditions/policies in order to force trans people out of using the space.

Please consider voicing your support for inclusivity here hampstead-heath-bathing-ponds.commonplace.is/en-GB/propos...

SHIVERS - I NEED YOU. YOU CAN KEEP ME ON THIS EARTH. BE VIGILANT. I LOVE YOU.

Yeah it aired here when I was about 13 and irreversibly altered my brain chemistry. Did a re-watch like two months ago to indoctrinate one of my buddies. Am so misguidedly loyal to it I had a grudge against Once Upon a Time for YEARS because MY nostalgia show did it first, dammit

EXCUSE ME WHAT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SHOWS OF ALL TIME EVER
miavee.bsky.social
Additional fun detail is I haven't been able to work for the past couple of weeks anyway because I'm in the worst episode of suicidal crisis I've experienced in years. Securing housing felt like a glimmer of hope. For 3 minutes.

The Devil works hard but the DWP works faster.
miavee.bsky.social
I declared a change of circumstances when I started part time work earlier this summer. 8 hours per week, permitted work, permitted pay levels.

DWP now threatening to take my entire income away if I don't provide a letter from my DWP-approved support worker. I have never had or been offered one.
miavee.bsky.social
The timing of this was poetic. Got an email confirming that the estate agent has accepted me as a new tenant for a property I really liked. Three minutes later a DWP letter hit the doormat.
miavee.bsky.social
Has not escaped my notice that this is a number that will by its very nature be used by a lot of neurodivergent people. What a way to make already anxious and dysregulated people even more fucked up before they even get to speak to a human.
miavee.bsky.social
Five minutes of this and I'm ready to confess to every unsolved cold case in the country.
miavee.bsky.social
DWP hold music is an act of aggression and chosen to deter people from accessing support. Heavy and jangly so it sounds like distorted dogshit through phone speakers and wildly fluctuating volume levels at random intervals. This is literally a torture method employed by militaries.

Oooh wait everybody in the house and some of the neighbours are having problems with our mobile signals today too across multiple networks, maybe it IS a disturbance in the force and for once it is NOT VM fuckery.
