1.4million people a day consult in General Practice ~ 200k more than 2019
But fewer GPs & 20% less funding
If you can’t see a GP it’s because someone else is
Govt & NHS England have failed to provide GPs with the resources to meet the demand
6% extra funding this year not the 20% needed

Nat Trust members please read, take note and vote.
It’s that time of year again.

The National Trust is still being assailed by absurd, but also well-funded & dangerous, ideological wreckers.

So, dear members, vote the wreckers down at the AGM, here ⬇️

Best (& easiest) is to vote for the NT recommendations.

the idea of 9,000 millionaires leaving Britain sounds dramatic until you remember there are 2,849,000 millionaires in this country

it’s literally a rounding error given the ebb and flow of migration

Hubble Ultra Deep field stuns me whenever I think about it.

Each of these blobs is a galaxy, like ours. Photographed in an area of the sky the size of your thumbnail.

And we’ll never visit a single one: the scale is so incomprehensibly gargantuan. Even our nearest galaxy, Andromeda, is too far.

When will you release the public consultation data around the regulation of Physician Associate roles?

3mth delay warrants investigation & disciplinary measures taken against you, GMC!

Not surprising but still shocking:
- Pre-Musk Twitter complied with 92% of requests to take down threats against MPs.
- Now it's 8% 'if that'. (@LindsayHoyle_MP )
Such a shame to see the platform dragged down like this.

Okay I think you are ready for this BlueSky. Let's talk cheese history.

More specifically, Yorkshire Dales cheeses, and how WW2 and rationing almost wiped out cheesemaking in northern Britain.

This is the story of the near-death of the world of one of the world's great cheeses: Wensleydale. /1 🧵
a cartoon character in a suit and tie is pointing at the camera and saying cheese .
Alt: animated gif: wallace from wallace and gromit being very excited about cheese.

Apparently Brexit has created a structural hole in UK GDP of about the same size as the UK spends upon its NHS. I don't remember seeing that written on the side of a bus. But it probably explains quite alot.

I strongly suspect the potential for harm that Long Covid carries (for many people & consequently the economy) was not taken seriously by last Govt. I’m hoping Wes Streeting et al take a wiser approach.

This is a helpful reminder for anyone using hashtags.

Please try to use CamelCase if you can. It helps people with screen readers to make sense of them. It’s also helpful to put the hashtags at the end as much as possible, not mid sentence.

#Hashtags
#CamelCase
#Accessibility
#ThisIsAnExample
Couple of gentle nudges…
Use a capital for each separate word in hashtags so that screen readers, used by people with visual impairments, can distinguish between words.
Also, do use alt text on media…..you can set an auto reminder for that in Settings.

Hi, Jay! Completely agree with you. Apologies if this is too basic for you, but here's an orientation thread I put together a while back. I find that searching feeds by keyword are one great way to find new pools of people and broaden your experience.
WELCOME TO BLUESKY! I recommend exploring our custom feeds, which are a little like hashtags but more interesting. We have them for academic and professional subjects, sports, cities, hobbies (e.g., gardening, baking), and many more. Search them in the sidebar under Feeds or at goodfeeds.co
