Agreed, Even when he is returned to the side of the Angels (no pun intended), there is an alien distance to him. He rarely needs sleep and he seems incredibly blasé about dying (something which Captain Blue seems to forget a lot early.) British stoicism to the nth degree or a living Ship of Theseus?

Honestly one of the high-points of ‘Rise’ was watching these three get to go on an adventure together.

I continue to feel deeply weird regarding caring a lot on main rn about my silly little video games and my silly little stories and my silly little musics and my silly little sports teams and yet I also feel like it might be as important to keep caring about those things as it’s ever been

whenever I read an article about someone getting AI psychosis I have to fight the urge to think "haha couldn't be me" because that's how it gets you. like how "smart" people are more vulnerable to getting conned bc they think they're too smart to fall for it

We did not weather nigh two decades of “lazy millennials are destroying every single industry” to turn around and do this to Gen Z!!!

Once again making silly things for the podcast instagram 🎃
An image that says "Got my Halloween costume squared away:", and its a photoshop of an "Oldtaku" bagged costume. The image on the front is of Ken from Otaku no Video holding a ton of VHS. Text on the costume bag reads: "OLDTAKU. Costume includes: vintage anime button-up shirt, bootleg VHS w/handwritten label, huge backlog, bottle of ibuprofen. "

istg everything about our culture and society right now is set up to make us the worst versions of ourselves. it takes so much energy to not be angry and upset and aggressive. they did this to us and they did it on purpose. we don't have to let them get away with that contrived version of humanity

Work/Life Balance is essential for a writer. Your brain is the whole deal. If you're tired, exhausted, unhappy, or all three, you're not going to be writing at your best. Be sure to take days off, don't beat yourself up for not making your pages, and get the rest you deserve. Fuck hustle culture.

I’ve always just taken ‘The Legend of Zelda’ to just be ‘a legend’ that has shifted and changed as Legends and folklore always change.

Amazon have removed the guns from their Bond posters, giving the tantalising impression that Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan think you’re a wanker.

Was once at a Wales v Italy match at the Millenium stadium and the Welsh fans, always in good voice, were singing "You can stick you Frothy Coffee up your ar*e" To much amusement to the entire crowd 🙂

Worth stressing that the budget for Broken Veil was £0.

The biggest challenge in planning it was how to make a full audio narrative show without taking advantage of the handful of lovely people we asked to help, or getting ourselves into serious debt.

That’s why winning a prize is lovely and mad.

Classy and poised. Haunted even.

Bagging a gong and a cushion. (Bronze for Best Fiction Podcast at the BPAs.)

Thanks to everyone who helped us make Broken Veil, and everyone who listened, in this reality or others.

This is the most ‘Me’ review of Mandy ever. I told a friend awhile back this might be the closet we get to a Corum movie.

Just watched Mandy. People who call the first half slow and boring have no attention spans and don't know how to appreciate tension building. It's like if Evil Dead and Kamen Rider had a fucked up baby who read a ton of Michael Moorcock. Basically made for me.

I am discovering in middle age that I have apparently developed the music taste of a teenage stoner in 1985. I spent an hour today listening to Blue Oyster Cult's "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" (co-written by Michael Moorcock!) & muttering "this is deep, man."

The thing about Blake’s 7 is that it is both incredibly gritty AND incredibly camp and it’d be difficult to thread that needle.
