Trump Deserves No Credit for Continued Drop in Crime in Chicago: Johnson, Pritzker

Chicago saw decreasing murders in 2022, 2023, and 2024. In 2025(Jan-Aug) saw less murders than every year except 2014 and 1964, prior to Operation Midway Blitz which began in September.

Obvious lies fuel their propaganda, which makes for a very shaky foundation. Not something that can last.

DHS takes credit for crime being down in Chicago. Data shows that was happening before they arrived.
Immigration officials on Tuesday said a drop in crime numbers was thanks to their work. Police data show the decrease was taking place before federal agents arrived in the city.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

If we want to stop the kidnappings and these agents require anonymity to commit these actions, then we must remove the masks.

So long as we allow masked law enforcement to terrorize people, we cannot be a democracy.
I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.
Video on social media shows an immigration agent pulling a gun in Little Village and holding it to the side — which is not an appropriate or safe way to hold a gun. (Among other issues.)

Developing story with a big fat caveat that DHS has been lying about what’s happening in Chicago for weeks.
At least two people were arrested by Chicago police and shots were allegedly fired at Border Patrol agents conducting immigration enforcement operations as tensions flared in Little Village Saturday morning.

Well. That injunction didn’t last long. Color me surprised.
About an hour after Ellis entered this injunction, a group of agents, including Bovino, drove away from a Southwest Side gas station where they were confronted by protestors, and fired a round of pepper balls at a sedan that pulled up alongside their vehicle, reports @chicagotribune.com
