Organellophagy receptors display cytoplasmic intrinsically disordered regions (IDRS). The IDRs of ER-phagy and mitophagy receptors are interchangeable, required and sufficient for ER and mitochondria fragmentation that precedes lysosomal clearance of the organelle’s portions.
