game/music/sound designer. Lover of films, games, ttrpg, everything audio. Worked on Shadows of Doubt, Silt, Cosmic Express, The Colonists + others. https://linktr.ee/monomoon_sound
+1 @starkholborn.bsky.social and I talked about this so much when we were working on it (for years 😅 ). Burying narrative/meaning/theme into every corner. Making strong connections between disciplines, mise en scene etc. etc. A privilege to be on a project where that was rewarded, encouraged.
Love this from @starkholborn.bsky.social ’s talk about Shadow of Doubt - about making sure you‘re putting story absolutely *everywhere*

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

The triple-threat of degraded search results, people burying advice in video content and imgur being blocked in the UK makes resolving software issues a real joy.

I am increasingly of the opinion that people who change menus and look and feel of computer software just so that you know it's a new version should be personally forced to play tech support to my mother for five months.

Last night I dreamt of the economy and toilets. I'm sure it didn't mean anything.

Just remembered that at the NFL in London the other week they played about 4 seconds of Voodoo Ray into the stadium before it got interrupted by something else.

Feel like it was the one tune that the whoever was responsible for the music slipped in of their own accord. Fair play.

I think what's impressive about TRON is that, visually, it's still so much more interesting than any of it's sequels. It's crazy that they tried update this digital world by making it as 'realistically rendered' as possible. It's a complete misunderstanding of the original's charm.

The thing about this is, is this is how born-rich people *already* do it - whether it's making art, or starting a business, or whatever they successfully do. They already know it works.
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

I finally sprung for Parawave's Rapid. Seemingly neglected but one of the best sounding sofftware synths I've heard. Always interesting and rich, it has that magic property of constant pleasant surprises.

Quite a few of the more popular synths favoured by sound designers sound kinda boring to me 🤷
