Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.

For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

Iranian state media claim "radical groups" are torching police stations and vehicles in Tehran. Early reports say security forces have begun using live fire. Attacks on military and police personnel are now being reported in multiple provinces. This is going to be a long night in Iran.

In my latest on #IranProtests, I argue that the country is locked in a state of political paralysis—marked by recurring protest cycles, escalating repression, & no clear transition path. What happens when neither bottom-up forces nor top-down power holders can decisively outmaneuver the other? #Iran

Yes, insider trading in betting markets is a feature, not a bug. But things get really dicey in crypto-based markets, where any public figure rich & famous enough to be subject to a wager and immoral enough to bet on it can do so anonymously.

Creates an outrageous cash redistribution funnel upward.
Isn't that the point of betting markets, to lure out information from informed insiders?

Wrote a piece for @slate.com explaining that states have a long history of prosecuting federal officers when they allegedly use excessive force. Federal officers are only immune from such prosecutions when they act reasonably in carrying out lawful duties.
Minnesota Could Prosecute the ICE Shooter. Trump Can’t Pardon Him.
Shortly after an ICE officer shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, city leaders began looking into whether the officer had violated state criminal law.

This video claims to show Venezuelans toppling and dragging a statue of former president Hugo Chavez.

But the video was filmed during anti-Maduro protests in July 2024 and the statue is Indio Coromoto.

From Rachel Hurley:

Something about Venezuela is not sitting right with me.
This is a long one.
And take this all with a grain of salt, because who the hell am I? I could be overthinking this whole thing.
