Chris Rufo literally was a core figure in boosting a lie that Haitian immigrants in an Ohio town ate pets. He offered a bounty for “information” after the lie was repeatedly debunked.

Spare us the navel-gazing nonsense.

it’s pretty funny that Duffy is simultaneously

1. scolding passengers for not wearing fancy clothes while flying

2. supporting airport gyms so passengers can be sweaty and gross while flying

both of these proposals are idiotic but the direct contradiction is next level
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."

Is there a single person in American political and media commentary who isn't Humbert Humbert or aspiring to be him
Possibly the only thing more freakish than Nuzzi's prose is the contortions her defenders twist themselves into. "She's not just hot, but she definitely is hot, while also being a vulnerable smol child. Also, criticizing her is sexist."

If it hasn't been said, I'll say it: No woman of color would ever be defended in this "she's just a smol bean" fashion & many Black, Latina, Asian & Indigenous women have had their lives & careers destroyed for nothing, or for far, far less. Same goes for trans women. These are just fucking facts.

Putting to much weight on a VP pick that people are gonna forget about in 2 years, dawg
If Kamala Harris had picked Josh Shapiro as a running mate, she’d likely be President now.

Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin almost always vote the same way in any given election. And she only barely lost these three states.

There is a real, fundamental misunderstanding at work here, and what I wish is that Matty would understand that many other people view an open racist and eugenicist with the same level of visceral contempt that he reserves for a left-wing writer who insulted his blog once.
I like these three. He’s also done a bunch of pro-vaccine stuff that I like to recommend to conservatives because but that wouldn’t be informative to the BlueSky audience.

Some guy would post the most wildly misogynistic uttered like “women are only good for procreation. As soon as you graduate, you must start a family or your a failure” and then post something like “never been more proud of my daughter #girldad

Ass whooping is free and on demand these days dawg!

i don't get the love for waymo in certain urbanist circles. it's safer cars, at least it seems that way from available data, but it's more cars. more cars are bad! we should want less cars!

it feels like deja vu all over again; uber and lyft were supposed to complement and not compete with public transit, eliminate drunk driving, reduce car ownership, etc. and then instead they just vomited thousands of cars onto the streets to circle the block for eternity

bsky.app/profile/renz...
There’s also 0 evidence that Waymos are sufficiently replacing human car trips. The data from Uber and Lyft’s similar rollout suggests that Waymo might actually be replacing transit/walking/biking trips more than *half* the time. That’s a lot of extra cars on the road for minimal returns in safety.

I burst out laughing alone in my office at least three times.

Hard to pick a favorite "excerpt," but this is one that made me LOL:

I distinctly remember the consensus in Toronto 10+ years ago that subways were about wasting money to preserve more surface space for cars.

LRTs were the sensible progressive option, providing almost as good service for much less money.

It turns out the service is... not so great after all.

Even if the GOP could run on affordability politics, the president has vocally said he has no interest in doing that. Instead, just rant about how good the economy is and how everyone are just big losers.
a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?
