Two images, one taken near perihelion, and again near aphelion showing the difference in apparent size (about 3% difference between them). A fixed optical system (Seestar 50) means the image scale is constant.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

The intricately carved 21ft high Sueno's Stone, standing on the edge of Forres in Moray, is the largest and most spectacular of the many carved stones that have survived from the early medieval period in Scotland. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

You'd be surprised how many web searches end up leading right to Wikipedia. Instead of going through Google and all its ads and AI blegh, you can get straight to Wikipedia that way. Convenient and useful!

Just done the tourist thing in #NYC. Brilliant but bonkers place. Enjoyed my wee homage to Beastie Boys Square. Paul's Boutique is an all time classic.

The right-wing campaign group that helped topple Roe v Wade in the US is now working to roll back abortion laws in the UK, with the help of Nigel Farage.

Its first step? Trying to create a debate around "free speech"

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

It takes a little finding but is well worth the effort. The unusual Ardclach Bell Tower, in a remote upland area south east of Nairn, was built in 1655. Originally a fortified retreat, it later became a detached bell tower for a nearby church. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

Ozzy is one of like 3 people in Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 that comes off as a decent human being and I always love the scene where Penelope Spheeris interviews him making breakfast while he explains the ups and downs of the business.
