Not easy to get to sleep tonight - have burnt the bridge of whatever career I had left and really don’t feel that my opinions are so extreme that that should have been necessary
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

For the record, Robin Ince is a superb comedian, an absolute mensch, a remarkable thinker and the kindest human you’ll ever meet. And the BBC is a genuinely great and globally unique institution that needs to stop being afraid. I think that’s where most of its faults and issues stem from.

The AIs are clearly in league with the octopuses. It’s over for us.
LLMs overwhelming choose octopus as their favorite animal. But if asked 2nd-favorite animal first, they *also* choose octopus and say corvids are their top favorite, then mistakenly deny that their answers are affected by question order. Link to full blog post in thread.

My mum was neither an entrepreneur, a high earner nor a skilled frontline worker. She brought up 2 children, and through voluntary work, helped create the playgroup movement, ran adult education programmes, and a wonderful music charity.
Had she applied to enter her UK now, she would be rejected.

Not like it would be justified if they were drug smugglers, but I think it hasn't gotten enough focus that a boat with 11 people onboard heading from Venezuela to Trinidad was almost certainly migrants. These were probably, at least for some of them, people fleeing Maduro. That's who they murdered.

<div class="field field-field-text"><p>Two French journalist unions filed a legal case against Israel for obstructing the work of their journalists in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, AFP reported on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and the French Journalists' Union filed the complaint with the Paris anti-terror prosecutor's office last week, accusing Israel of "obstructing the freedom to inform".</p>
<p>The complaint mentioned a journalist being pursued by around 50 Israelis armed with "guns, cans of petrol and sticks" while reporting in the West Bank, all in the presence of the Israeli army.</p>
<p>Israel has not allowed international journalists into the Gaza Strip since the start of the war in October 2023, except when embedded with Israeli forces.</p>
<p>IFJ general secretary Anthony Bellanger said, "For more than two years, the IFJ has been calling for the borders to be opened to the foreign press so that they can relieve our colleagues who are exhausted by two years of war."</p>
