oc rambles from tumblr because I thrive when I don't have a character limit
So yesterday in the car me and John were talking oc shop and we roughly categorized how caffeine sensitive our various ocs are: Dom and Max are incredibly caffeine resistant. - Dom was a space trucker for almost all of his replicant and adult life. He has tried or taken at some point just about any space gas station or space port caffeine pills, energy drinks, etc. Can tolerate enough caffeine to kill a small horse probably (/lh). He also has eaten foods from tons of questionable places during his career as a space trucker, so his constitution for Weird Shit is also high. Present day he drinks black coffee near daily. - Max was heavily reliant on caffeine and stimulants during his time as a silvercops captive forced to work for them. He didn't like to lose focus for a second or even sleep because then his reality would come crashing in. Present day he is a black coffee drinker like Dom. Both think their caffeine tolerance is amusing. Max also likes fancier iced coffees from time to time. Ben is pretty caffeine resistant. He's *huge* as a mutant with gigantism, so everything needs so much more to affect him in the first place. In addition he's been drinking various types of energy drinks or coffee for years due to working early hours on the farm. He's not picky when it comes to his method of caffeine and just drinks whatever is on hand. Yaz is a white monster drinker. So is Yumyulack (I'm including him since he's so associated with my ocs now). They squabble over whose is whose if he's hanging out with the fam. Mal used to drink a lot of coffee back in their college/uni days, as they have a doctorate. They used to drink really crappy cheap instant coffee during their field work as a xenobiologist, which she has in common with Max as he is ex military. Aran is caffeine sensitive. Entirely. It was not even a question when I said "and Aran?" we both immediately went "yeah, caffeine is going to one hit KO that shlorpian". He likes fancy iced coffees and I've drawn him drinking them a few times now, but caffeine absolutely gets to him the fastest and he has next to no tolerance for it.

This is a really good point that I had not run into before: these "creators" have no further insight into their alleged creation than the average audience member and that is why it cannot be called art (besides all the other obvious reasons).

heads up that bluesky doesnt show posts from other languages by default on your timeline, and its cutting you off from a lot of the community

go to bsky.app/settings/lan... and deselect any language from this setting, or else you might not see any of the new japanese users at all!

Tips: moving from Xitter to Bsky Before you start following people, fill out your profile! Bio, PFP, banner, and post at least 5 to 10 things. Just reuse your top 10 banger tweets—recycling is encouraged! This way, people will know you aren’t a bot, will see what you are about, and might follow back. Turn off NSFW filters in Settings > Moderation > Enable Adult Contentand at the bottom on Settings > Moderation > Bluesky Mod Service Find your friends from the hellsite using Sky-Follower-Bridge.devNot perfect, but it will find the majority of the people you were following.Beware of fake tools that ask for money! Follow a few feeds related to your interests. In bsky you choose what kind of content you want to see. You can pin feeds (into tabs) to the top of your timeline, and you always have access to the Following feed which shows nothing but who you choose to follow. Block often. Don’t interact with trolls. Don’t quote dunk, comment, nothing. Let them rot in silence, take away their oxygen and they’ll asphixiate. This is the Bsky way. Turn off language filters in Settings > Languages > Content Languages Or you won’t see posts from anyone in Japan, Germany, etc, in your feeds, even if they only post a cool image with no text. Weird, but trust me on this one. Uncheck all to see all posts. Fuck content scrapers. Do not let that trash overwhelm this site, do not share their stolen content. You can block them all with two clicks by going to joabaldwin.com/scrapers and on the top-right clicking on Subscribe > Block Accounts (I know, “Subscribe” is an odd thing to name it, but that’s how block lists work). Use alt text to make images accessible. Helps for translations, readability, findability, and users with slow internet. Turn on Settings > Accessibility > Require alt text before posting It takes time to rebuild, but the best time to do it is right now. Use your last tweets to tell everyone to move, then stop posting. Twitter is a Nazi/AI/bot/crypto cesspit.
