One of the things I’ve been coming to terms with is some people are okay with others dying or suffering. They fully ascribe to dying or suffering the survival of the fittest logic until it affects them specifically.

At the start of COVID, we all learned how to beat airborne viruses like the flu: by wearing masks and staying home when we are sick. It's a real shame we haven't translated those important lessons into long-term behavioral change.

It’s a good start & I’m also wary about the sample population: exclusively diabetes type 2 patients & they don’t specify whether they’re all veterans (given the data source) which would of course impact effect of co-occurring diagnoses.
