Thatchersim — still the basis of so much of our economy — worked by making us buy things we already owned, using money we borrowed from our grandkids, and then cancelling the maintenance and calling it "savings".

And now everything is broken.

I feel I should be awarded the inaugural Bluesy peace prize.
I have not killed anyone or started any wars.
Ever.
This puts me streets ahead of yesterday's FIFA Peace Prize winner.
I also try to be nice.
Funny too.
Helpful.
If this starts trending I will start shopping for a nice tuxedo & bow tie.

Trouble is, and no disrespect to the original poster, but international football is the pure form. No transfer fees, no plutocrats buying clubs as toys. We all saw Cameroon in 1990, Iceland at Euro 2016, I mean there’s a million examples. Lose that, you really are fucked. Good luck everyone!
I’ve always wanted to abolish international football, but today, more than ever.

Review:

"This book is going to keep you awake because it's so good! I couldn't put it down and it's brilliantly written. Can't wait to read the second in this series which I've just ordered. Honestly up there with Gone Girl but I prefer Erin!"

This is why it really matters that Farage is challenged on his racism, and why govt is so irresponsible to have endorsed the ‘legitimate concerns’ lie, instead of roundly rejecting intolerance and insisting on an honest and decent approach to immigration policy.

“When you win games of cricket, it is unbelievably special. It was hard work, but international sport is hard work.”

The Covid enquiry: “Too little, too late. Scientists ignored”.

The Climate crisis: Too little, too late. Scientists being ignored.

Maybe best for all if we simply ignore the self-serving anti-science deniers, most notably Trump, Farage, Tice, Reform U.K. in general, along with the US GOP.

"The reason ordinary families and the gov get poorer year after year is because of this massively increasing inequality"

If BBC News was a hotbed of left-wing wokery producing *systemically* biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019.

It’s not. He wasn’t.

And we got Boris Johnson instead.

So, Farage, in the same breath, has stated that:

Minimum wage should be cut for young people (currently at £10 an hour - oh the largesse!)

And

Young people earning over £100k a year should get tax cuts.

That tells you just about everything you need to know about where his priorities lie.
