Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

It isn’t erasing or excusing bigotry to point out that a bigot did Good Things at a different point in their life.

What it is, is acknowledging that people are complex and multifaceted and we can judge them as whole creatures. The world is not binary. People are not binary.

I couldn’t find the salt pork at the grocery store and asked the butcher for a substitute I could use. They pulled out their phone and asked ai to recommend a substitute. Cmon man, really?

Not getting a good nights sleep kinda ruins your whole day. Especially someone who can only nap when sick, once I’m up, I’m up. (At4am)

Wizened Millennials sneering at Gen Alpha: I told you the old ways are best

(Gen X, petting its moldering set of the 1983 World Book Encyclopedia: Soon. Soon.)
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

My latest for @nytimes.com! For 40 years, paleontologists have grappled over whether a small tyrannosaur — named Nanotyrannus — was its own animal, or simply a teenage T.rex. The debate has been ... contentious. Which is why it's so fun to finally be able to say this:

Folks? Nanotyrannus is real.
