As usual @sandraduffy.bsky.social is absolutely right.

The UK state in Northern Ireland has quite the documented record of killing and torturing.

See also: UK war crimes and similar in Kenya, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
People living in UK - especially GB - should not be thinking 'at least we're not as bad as America,' when Northern Ireland exists and civilians were being shot by state forces there for decades, and recent governments have given those forces amnesty. @grantsana.bsky.social leading bsky voice here.

This seems significant: not a FORMER DHS official, but a SENIOR (current) one saying the officer who fired acted counter to training.

This is not an admin that admits mistakes. And they are hanging this guy out to dry on Day One.

I think they know this is bad. Really bad.

The whole world is seeing for themselves how Renee Good, a mother, wife and artist, was murdered by an agent of the US Government and how the President of the US immediately led a torrent of gaslighting lies and smears by officials to blame the woman for her own murder.
Profoundly evil.

In other common law jurisdictions, this video would amount to proof of the commission of both a tort and a crime. There is no special immunity for law enforcement behaving in this way.

If the United States Constitution doesn’t protect you from a federal agent shooting you in the face for the “crime” of turning your car around, it doesn’t exist. ICE has become a paramilitary force with zero oversight and a Secretary in Kristi Noem who encourages the chaos. ENOUGH.

And they’ll say they can’t be held accountable because when they pulled the trigger they were afraid for their lives. Their lives which they spent serving an ideology of fear, a machine of fear, a holistic regime of fear. A culture-spanning engine of the ugliest and most dishonest fears there are.
Any one of us could be shot or kidnapped because an ICE agent doesn’t like the look of us. Are you prepared to be murdered in cold blood while “news” sources repeat the claim you were “weaponizing your vehicle” trying to leave your driveway? They want you to accept that. They want to make it normal

The threat to court martial Senator Mark Kelly has been reduced to this petty, spiteful act - no doubt because this is what they think they can legally get away with.

Let's hope Kelly legally challenges this "administrative act" - for he did nothing wrong, merely setting out the applicable law.
