House Republicans are refusing to return to Washington to vote on a bipartisan bill to pay our troops. Congress has done this in previous shutdowns. Next Wednesday, service members will miss their paycheck because of the Republican shutdown.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a law that will require streaming advertisements to have the same audio level as the shows they interrupt.

Starting in July, the volume level of ads on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max must match that of the content.

Expect other states to follow.

In the 1970's-1990's the United States had a slough of serial killers, which were primarily White men that had issues with women, and were often pedophiles.

You never hear about new cases of this, because now they work in our government.

I love ghost stories, so now we have Post Mortem (2022). Hungarian, but dubbed in English. Europe has undergone WWI and the Spanish Flu, killing millions. Survivor Tomás travels, taking pictures of the dead. This one comes with bleak winter landscapes, unburied dead, and some off-putting dialogue.

This year was opened with Vikingulven (2022). Set in Norway, with Norwegian and Swedish dialogue. You can watch it with subtitles on Netflix. Not super scary, but does have a a bit of gore. Props for disability rep in supporting roles.
