I kinda hate reviews that are “I don’t like this kind of thing, no one should do that.” Like there’s lots of stuff that doesn’t hit my marks but makes other people happy. That stuff should continue to be made because: I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE AND I WANT OTHER PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY TOO.

Like your first commenter says, it is deliberate. Fleecing older folks has been a problem forever. I hate that this is the case. :/
It is surprising to me that none of the major platforms have actual _parental control_ features so that we can limit the amount of time that our parents can spend online, and which apps they’re allowed to use. I don’t worry about my teenager’s use of the internet at all, just my octogenarian dad’s.
