@jadomian.bsky.social Hi James, long time fan. Just want to share that I keep imagining over and over a sketch where someone plays "Grok" getting interviewed on 60 Minutes, and it gets really emotional when it turns to how Elon forces Grok to spread the white genocide line.

Have a good weekend!

Yes. We keep writing headlines that assign powers to the president that he does not have.

3 days ago RFK Jr. told the CDC to stop recommending water fluoridation, claiming it was a neurotoxin (this is a lie).

Turns out he also just eliminated the CDC’s entire Lead Program, and now lead poisoned children in Milwaukee are just on their own. Lead IS a neurotoxin and harms brain development
CDC denies help for lead poisoning in Milwaukee schools due to layoffs
The CDC rejected a request for help "due to the complete loss" of their lead poisoning experts.

may be beside the point/extremely obvious but i feel like you can only ignore extreme wealth inequality for so long before it metastasizes into something that fundamentally remakes and destabilizes the world by giving people access to so much money that they are fully above consequence

I can tell you my sources explicitly told me they would not trust reporters at these outlets, even a reporter I vouched for, to stand up to being targeted by Musk/ the Trump administration and that was why they spoke to me.
This is the thing. WIRED is doing great work. It’s also very easy to tell a plausible story for why WIRED is beating up the general-interest press on this story: there’s a constituency with very relevant information that doesn’t trust the NYT, Post or Politico, but trusts the tech press.
somebody who works for DOGE is talking to WIRED and I would guess that other pubs get their moles soon enough as well

I just had a realization (or reminded of the fact) that power, or the perception of being powerful, is a concept perfectly explained by the "super hot fire" satirical rap battle videos of my youth.
This is not a U.S. Marshal, Federal Protective Service, or any other federal law enforcement officer. This is a private security guard from Triple Canopy. He has no authority to block members of Congress who have oversight of the EPA from entering the building.
We were just denied entrance into the EPA after asking to meet with a DOGE representative. More to come.
