This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

ICE detain U.S. citizen for looking Somali—use illegal chokehold to tackle him to ground.

Man repeatedly begs agents to look at his digital passport ID—they refuse.

Drove him 7 miles away before releasing him alone into Minnesota snow storm—told him to "walk home" in freezing weather advisory.

@the-megan-dance.bsky.social so many phenomenal insights this morning. “Phish is a safe space for men to have emotions” plus the conversation about the mental games we play when deciding which show over run will be better. A+ stuff.

Just sending it out there that this is not normal and this is not OK. And yet Congress keeps voting to fund it.

I believe that what will keep Jewish New Yorkers – and all New Yorkers – safe is inclusive, multiracial democracy. Bad faith attacks, division, and racism won't protect us.

If you want to disagree with me, great. That’s part of being Jewish New Yorkers. 🧵

Attacking pre-school teachers because they don’t think Palestinian kids should be bombed to death? Declaring NYC’s first Muslim mayor “our enemy?” Fomenting hatred, even within the Jewish community?

You’re not making anyone safer.🧵

Safety. Regulations. Are. Written. In. Blood.
People don’t understand that stripping the guardrails of regulation and oversight doesn’t just apply to like better business bureau type shit but also like on a practical level when I get into an elevator I expect that it has passed a safety inspection & that type of security will be gone soon

In other words, Trump admits he was trying to use his pardon power to buy Republicans a House seat.

Let me be extra clear about my theory. Our institutions have been invaded by incompetent people. However, the *reason* they were given these positions is because they have shown that they are willing to do scammery. That is the purpose and the goal of hiring morally questionable people.

One of my great joys in life is reuniting lost items with their owners. Found a phone today on the train. Location history showed it riding solo in the seat for 4 hours. Terrible practice not having a screen lock but I managed to contact the owner who will pick it up in the morning.
