A juvenile grasshopper mantis, Yersiniops sp., Arizona. Less than an inch long, with most excellent eyewear. These small mantises hop a little like grasshoppers, hence the common name. They're almost invisible in dry grass. #insects 🌿🐙

Puffin Portrait - a cropped photo taken with my 85mm. macro lens. There was a colony nesting in burrows on the cliff edges. Apparently puffin predators (big gulls, skuas) avoid people, so the puffins don't mind humans nearby, as long as we keep to the paths. Isle of Lunga, Scotland 🌿🦉
