Yet another incident that would’ve gotten any other president immediately impeached that is only the 127th worst thing Trump has done in 2025.

Affidavit from Cook County Public Defender (yay!) Sharone Mitchell Jr, testifying that his clients are being deprived of their due process rights by ICE/CBP.
For example, during the first three weeks of September 2025, ICE agents have

entered courthouses in at least four separate court locations: the Daley Center, the Leighton

Criminal Court Building, the Domestic Violence Courthouse, and the branch courts at 111th Street.

ICE agents have arrested people attempting to attend their civil or criminal court hearings. ICE

agents have been observed at multiple Cook County courthouses in a single day. Employees of our

office have witnessed the following ICE actions in Cook County courts in recent months:

               a. On July 24, 2025, at the suburban Maywood courthouse, a man was taken

into custody by plainclothes ICE agents inside the courthouse after he left his court hearing.

The agents never showed a warrant or identified themselves during the arrest.

               b. On September 2, 2025, at the Domestic Violence court located at 555 W.

Harrison in Chicago, a man was detained and arrested outside of the courthouse building

       after attending his court hearing.

               c. On September 3, 2025, at the Domestic Violence court located at 555 W.

Harrison in Chicago, a woman attempting to attend her misdemeanor court case was

stopped inside the court building by ICE agents. ICE agents arrested her, and she missed

her court hearing, during which her misdemeanor case was subsequently dismissed.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.
“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.

These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.”

Ngl a lot of the reindustrialization people really seem to think that America can shift production from 40% margin tech companies to those that mostly compete with .3% margin Chinese manufacturing companies and somehow become more prosperous for it

9) People are, all things considered, pretty good.

I see twenty thousand people a day, and maybe two of them are assholes. Even on a stressful day, even in an unfamiliar environment, even hungry and tired and on a timer.

That's a *much* better ratio than folks realize.

A life update: this wound up paying off. I'm still applying to several jobs that are hopefully careers, but I've got my survival needs covered by a job at the airport that I'm apparently pretty good at.

And instead of being in an office alone, which was driving me mad, I see 20k people a day.

The Humboldt Park boathouse parking lot was actually designed as a “music court” for outdoor performances, and was used as such until the Parks Department began reconfiguring park space to accommodate the automobile in the late 1920s and 30s.
