The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

If Maxwell wasn't involved in Epstein's child rape op, then why was she on the run from the FBI, masking her identity & location?

Innocent people don't go to those lengths

And why did she sue for a portion of Epstein's estate?

Uninvolved people don't lay claim to someone's $$ they had no part in

There are so many times this nightmare should’ve been over, but I’ll never get how inciting a violent coup on J6 didn’t lead to a prison term post haste. That fucker should’ve been yanked by the lapels out of the White House, handcuffed, and hauled away that day. Everyone knew he was responsible.

So the Epstein files were on Bondi’s desk… and also there are no Epstein files… and also Obama and Hillary created them? Do we have that right?

7. If this bill passes, Americans die, deficits explode, climate investments turn off and the rich get richer. If it goes down, those bad things don't happen. Those are the stakes. Keep your eyes on the prize.

I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it a thousand times more: If you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.

We are done with a time of straight facts only reporting. We are now in a time where legal and political context in journalism is EVERYTHING.

To wit: Donald Trump cannot take away security clearances that people never had...pass it on! shero.substack.com/p/connect-th...
Connect the Damn Dots, MSM!
The mainstream media is continuously letting the public down when they report the actions of Donald Trump and his team without putting those facts into context to call out the attempt at spin.

The decisive test of our society in my lifetime was the 2024 election and our failure was spectacular and total. I will never again have any faith in the American electorate to do the obviously right thing.

also this longstanding dem idea that they should stand around and do nothing until public anger starts bubbling over on its own is a cheap way to dodge accountability and agency

dems should be on TV and socials 24/7 standing next to fired workers shaping, nurturing, and cultivating that outrage

It’s not just that the money gained is from mass firings, those firings mean less safety, less service for the public. I don’t want a $2000 check if it means that food is less safe, flying is less safe, TB, tsunamis, and Ebola are not being tracked, lakes & rivers are filled with poisons, etc, etc.

How about I give you $50 instead

Nope, I want to punch you

I’ll buy you dinner but no violence

Sorry, I really like to punch

Ok, what if you slap me medium-hard

It’s a punch in the face or nothing

Ok fine, punch me. I can’t be blamed for obstructing a deal

Peters is a no according to staff but this is the target list otherwise. Go get em, New Hampshire!
Things are moving quickly, but it looks like these Sen's especially need calls from *constituents* to vote NO on cloture:

Angus King (ME)
Amy Klobuchar (MN)
Jacky Rosen (NV)
Brian Schatz (HI)
Maggie Hassan (NH)
Jeanne Shaheen (NH)
Gary Peters (MI)

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121.
This is NEW today. AOC sent this 11 am. Friday morning.

Yes, your calls are still needed. The vote is in the early afternoon. There is still time!

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.
