Horrifying BUT I hold out hope this will be a lame novelty. Ppl don’t want to put this much effort into watching TV and movies. They’re passive entertainment. Wanting to master prompt writing for this is gonna be a niche thing. And it’ll be the people too chicken shit to make TV in the first place.
Amazon just funded a streamer that lets you use AI to make your own TV shows. Read its pitch deck.
Fable Studio got Amazon backing for its AI streaming platform, Showrunner. Here's its pitch to Hollywood studios.

BREAKING: A federal judge reversed National Institutes of Health's terminations of hundreds of critical research grants that were canceled because of their alleged connection to disfavored topics, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and gender identity.

This is a major win for public health.

“In today’s climate, a military parade could offer an opportunity to counter misperceptions about the armed forces. It could bring Americans closer to service members and juice military recruitment—all of which is sorely needed,” @kschake.bsky.social writes:

Bitch you're the only person talking about this shit! This is letting the other side dictate the debate!

We've been beaten over the head with Alexander Hamilton quotes for a decade and yet party leadership still hasn't internalized the easiest thing: "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything."

The only thing it won’t be able to do is VC investing, which must be reserved as a task only for the most-special people

On the other hand, pro-AI people talk about it like they’re trying to unload a shitty used car. “Does it always work right? Absolutely not! Do you need to take extra annoying steps to receive worse results? Of course! But that’s the real beauty of it…”
Some of the anti-AI stuff feels a bit like when people would say "don't use Wikipedia as a source." It's just like anything else, a piece of information that you weigh against multiple sources and your own understanding of its likely failure modes

I want to give credit to my editors, who asked me to write 2,000 words on why Andrew Tate wears such tight pants. I submitted 3,700. They asked if I really needed to start with a story about the industrial revolution and I said "yes, absolutely don't cut."

Still trying to articulate this, but in Hollywood right now we are seeing television executives grasping for a level of control over creative work that is new to me in my 15-year career, and there is a direct relationship between the way they treat writers the way tech treats AI prompts.
