One of my favourite eps to do. For two reasons:

1) Walters and I have finally, after a 4 season battle, sorted out our numerous and maddening audio issues.

2) Finally the war has swung irreversibly in the favour of the allies.

Check it out, if you fancy.

🧵Teaching Students NOT to use AI

So...I've tried to explain to my students why they aren't allowed to use genAI in MY class (even though the university seems to be encouraging them to)

I've written this document to try to explain WHY it's a bad idea rather than just forbidden fruit.

The ITV exposé on COVID now turns its sights on testing. I was stunned in 2020 when Sir Paul Nurse - Director of the Francis Crick Institute - told me he’d written to the government to offer the services of the Crick (the biggest biomeolecular lab in the country) - and never got a reply…

Fun fact: if you look at historical geographic naming in Normandy, it's of Anglo-Scandinavian origin more than pure Scandi.

Norman lit liked to suggest pure Viking. Reality was that channel had ALWAYS been no barrier to immigration in either direction. The Normans were as "British" as the Saxons.
So much weird in here, but hard to disagree that the average Saxon would have recognised policies of sinking vessels you don't like the look of, and imprisoning people who look different.

Instead of spending £20 on something that should be free, that you can barely taste and will soon piss out, why not buy a signed print from me? It'll last much longer and won't make you feel like a gullible tit every time you look at a tap in your house.

Frankly, I don't what possessed me, but I decided to recreate 1970s cinema intermission screens as vector graphics with the rule that everything had to be 100% vector. No raster graphics, no photographs, no post-vector treatments.

For every few likes this get, a fact about university websites and how gen z and below interact with information, as proven by testing/data.

Which brings me nicely on to my next one:

When searching for a course - on the web, uni site or wherever - the ONLY terms they're using are:

1) Stuff they know from school
2) a career/cultural word related to life goals

BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE ONLY WORDS THEY KNOW.
You have absolutely no idea, mid A-level, what the titles of the 3rd-year options even mean, nor how the actual delivery of the preceding 2 years will have prepared you for them, nor how good the lecturers for each module are, nor how you yourself will have changed by then. Vibes is what you've got.

*Knows nothing about comics* Okay so the premise is Superman is a normal person under a red sun, and under a yellow sun gains super powers. But this implies if we moved him further up the main sequence to be under a blue sun he will gain super-super powers and become Super-Super-Man—
