The Lord is with you!
Even when you do a poo,
He is not ashamed of you.
But please understand
the wiping thereafter
is solely yours to do.

I think there's a very deliberate intent in these rounds of The Discourse to get the lefty lib artists and writers arguing amongst themselves in public, just to make a point about how bitter/elitist/jobless/useless we all are. I generally choose not to assist.
notmoro.bsky.social
For context the current Discourse around this concerns the current leader of the UK Conservative party-- an enthusiastic fascist-- banging on about cutting arts courses from the curriculum. Much like they've done at colleges in the US recently. It's not actually about who values what degrees.

Yes please, I would like to BUY A STRANGER A BOOK, up to £20. ("Strangers" can include mutuals I don't know very well, unless I have already bought them a book previously.)

I wish our various governments could be proud of and support the industries we actually have, instead of what Reg down the bowls club who retired in the 90s reckons it probably should be

The hardest action to take is often the first one. So this #BannedBooksWeek don't worry about what you do as long as you DO SOMETHING. We'll win this together with millions of little actions building to big changes & millions of people working together & taking care of each other.

I could have table napkins with nice edges again, though. Imagine that.

... I had a thing like this when I was a kid. I made one basic stuffed shape with it, and never touched it again.

Someone donated this thing because they hated it. I know that. But I'm literally starting on ragged table napkins. That is the level of knowhow I am not even at, yet.

I've done it. I have finally slapped down a whole £5 for a used baby sewing machine FOR BABIES, so I can learn to do my own hems

In Discworld, cities thrive because they welcome dwarfs, trolls, vampires, and humans alike. Ankh-Morpork works because everyone belongs. Funny how fiction can seem more humane than policy sometimes.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

Kemi Badenoch claiming Terry Pratchett as her favourite author is wild

I don't know how I manage to not see all this stuff, but I'm glad I don't.

As a filthy migrant I am new to the whole Wimpy experience, so I'm having the Bender egg brunch, and then I'mma be sick
badmachinery.com
It's my birthday in 16 days and we're going to Wimpy. All my followers are invited. What is everyone having? I'm definitely having the Shanty Brunch but I'm vacillating over my beverage. Maybe raspberry, or maybe a cool glass of milk.

*If you haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle, I can't recommend it enough. Here's one of the end fight sequences where you see The Beast (played by Bruce Leung) in action. Please note: This is a bit of a spoiler, but the movie is over 20 years old, so I think it's okay.
