Father of two, enjoy videogames when I get the time. First home computer was a Sinclair Spectrum. Made it to Élite on the BBC B.
On the flip side, my family was so obnoxious that Christopher Biggins requested to be moved away from us in a restaurant.

So I can feel less bad about that! 😄
OK, so here's the full "bowdie yells at Biggins" story. Many years ago... I reckon 2005 - Mrs bowdie wanted to visit the Newent Birds of Prey center, the other side of Gloucestershire from us. So we jumped in the car and I drove us there. 1/?

Christmas Day. Must mean Prosecco and Raiders!!
December 25, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Alright, it's Christmas. And that means it's time for a little honesty.

I've had a large screen telly and at least 5.1 surround sound for 24 years, and I have the motion smoothing turned on in my 75" screen. Lowest setting, but I think it makes movies more immediate and engaging.

Merry Christmas!

That's work finished for the year, and the first Baileys inside me!

I could sleep for a day now.

Now, where is Mister Takagi?
December 21, 2025 at 7:05 PM
Gotta say, I got Thunder Helix a while ago, and it's very nice. I should try to play some over Christmas!
For those that would enjoy classic flight sims with some modern QoL, then I'll give a couple of games a shout-out, starting with this one. Thunder Helix is inspired by EGA flight sims such as LHX and walks a fine line between arcade action and simulation.

“Be sure to set me to ‘delicate,’ Alison. It’d be a shame to ruin that sweater, you know, in case it ever comes back in style.”

It must be December. Advent calendar is active!

My neighbour, who has a Union Flag flying outside his house and had an English St George's Cross up for 6 weeks earlier this year, seems to have omitted his Saltire.

We're in Scotland. He's Scottish. His family are Scottish. It's St Andrew's Day. I feel this may not be related to patriotic pride...

I guess I can still complete Syndicate with a single agent!

I swear Doom needs end credits, and this needs to be the triumphant theme tune!
I made a joke in my main Discord server about DOOM E1M1 being in a major key and @abigbagofkeys.sickonedude.com actually made it. Jesus fucking Christ listen to this hahahaha

It's been so dark and misty this evening, I couldn't see my dog on the other end of his lead!

We’ve made this investigation free to read because so many people in Sheffield are affected by this story.

Our journalists have been knocking on doors for weeks and we’ve had to employ lawyers because of the legal threats made against us.

We can only do this kind of journalism with your support.
“It broke my heart, that was my savings towards a new car,” one woman who paid Milne tens of thousands of pounds told us. “He has just wiped me out.”

Who is Andrew Milne - the solicitor sending "very aggressive" letters to Sheffield homeowners?

They are also intentionally conflating machine-learning and generative AI slop to confuse and try to make GenAI seem necessary. Google Maps traffic stuff is machine learning, not GenAI, for example. Auto-correct is too. Don't let them make you lose the thread. GenAI slop is slop.
the nyt posts this stuff like avoiding AI for 48 hours is hard and meanwhile i have literally never once intentionally used an AI program for anything ever

How do morning rolls know about the clock change?

It was quite good, but it did take 35 guesses to reach Alan B'Stard, MP for Haltemprice, with the biggest majority in The Commons. So that's 35 billion possibilities...

I had a dream last night where I was using liquid egg in a 3D printer. I could create wonderful shapes in egg, and the print element would cook it.

Off to the patent office with this one!!

Hamish has had a bath, and I'm not sure he's very happy about it. But he was stinky.
