"christmas is 12 days" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person has 0 days of chirstmas. Ebenezer Scrooge, who was visited by three spirits and then vowed "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year," is an outlier adn should not have been counted

once Netflix and HBO merge, maybe the people at HBO who decided not to renew Scavengers Reign and the people at Netflix who decided not to renew Scavengers Reign can meet up and shake hands and hug and kiss

When I was a kid I couldn’t wait til Christmas to see what Santa Claus would bring me. Now that I’m an adult every year I have the same kind of anticipation about thanksgiving, I can’t wait to hear what Al Roker will say about Goku. Last year Al Roker called him “a hugely popular guy”

problem with the internet is that you think "olivia nuzlocke" and you search and see other people have beaten you to it and then you hang your head in shame. you got to "olivia nuzlocke" on your own and people are gonna think you stole it from a guy who wrote a webcomic you used to read 20 years ago

I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. I do not think that they will sing to me. It's fine though, I'm not mad about it.

if I had to characterize the literary style used by Jeff and his pals over email, I'd say it's giving "Letter to London Central News Agency from Jack The Ripper (authenticity disputed)"

Finally set aside some time to catch up on the first two episodes of The Comics Code podcast by @graemeburk.bsky.social, diving deep into the story behind Siegel and Shuster's creation of Superman. Thorough in its research and gorgeous in its production. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I'm just gonna keep commenting on the gundam subreddit and repeating the contrasting terms "deikunism" and "zabism" as though they are a pre-existing and well understood piece of gundam fan jargon, until I've successfully incepted the gundam fandom. this is my mission

something in the bigotry meta that feels clear to me but never gets talked about: there are two different pathways into bigoted pseudoscience: the people who start from a place of bigotry and back into the pseudoscience and the people who start from the pseudoscience and work forward to the bigotry
