I saw charismatic mega fauna and micro fauna today

An elk with antlers standing by the side of the road.

A very small garden snail in a tiny puddle of water. It's maybe a quarter of an inch long and the giant crescent of my thumbnail is in the lower part of the photo for scale. It's wee. Really tiny. The eyestalks and body are practically translucent.
