Law firms did not strike a "truce" with Trump. They capitulated to an authoritarian. Some, like Skadden, sought out these deals before they even faced any sanction from the Trump regime.

The law students standing up are brave. The law firms they are protesting are cowards.

Major shoutout to local National Weather Service offices who have issued literally hundreds and hundreds of tornado / severe thunderstorm / flood warnings in just the past 36 hours alone. Most offices are doing this amid staff shortages.

SPC / WPC teams doing amazing work, too.

I'm watching CNBC. These anchors are so angry. They really didn't believe he'd do it. They're actually just now, 10 years into this shit, realizing he's a maniac hellbent on revenge and there's no grand plan for the markets. Better late than never but holy shit.

We can’t let that tragedy repeat in Texas. The MMR vaccine is 97% effective at preventing measles. Let’s stop the spread.

I always get people to ask it a question they know the answer to. A musical friend, who had been really impressed with LLM answers to topics he wasn't expert in, completely lost faith in it after reading an answer on musical theory. Difference was simply he knew it was wrong.

this is how you can tell somebody doesn't know what they're doing

LLMs produce unusable, wrong "answers" a significant chunk of the time.

even highly educated people are painfully gullible. all you gotta do is animate the text like it's typing and these suckers slurp it down like mommy's milk
If you have zero education, but learn how to ask AI models the right questions , in many jobs you will be able to outperform someone with an advanced degree, but who is unwilling to use Large Language Models.

Just takes a smartphone, curiosity to experiment and a mindset to learn.

This kind of ends of it. The MSM will not even let citizens pay to speak out against a private citizen who has taken over our government and is firing thousands of workers who live within 100 miles of the paper’s city.

Bowing and scraping it’s way into irrelevance.
The Washington Post pulled an ad that was set to run in some editions on Tuesday calling for Elon Musk to be fired from his role in government, a group that ordered the ad said. It would have covered the front and back pages of editions delivered to the White House, the Pentagon and Congress.

I'm probably going to get in trouble pointing this out--but Jeffries and Schumer take money from very powerful lobbies that are determined to prevent Americans from protesting, which is why the response on college campuses turned violent and were denigrated by certain Democratic politicians.
Please don't say that no one is doing anything. We're waiting for @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @schumer.senate.gov to catch up with their constituents.

People in tech talk about the idea of a “10x programmer” — someone whose work is worth that of 10 others. I get the impression Musk etc think they can apply it all over the federal workforce but like… there’s no such thing as a 10x ATC navigational aid maintenance worker. Some jobs just need people.
Abruptly firing people who work in air traffic control is like murdering your own soldiers in the middle of a war.

Even if you think things now aren’t working as efficiently as they should there’s no clear path to recovering from this; it’s just a really extremely foolish and dangerous thing to do.
On the heels of multiple airplane disasters, including one less than a month ago that killed 67 people, and after years of warnings about our understaffed air traffic control system, Trump has begun firing hundreds of FAA air traffic control workers.
