Practical effects are fantastic. Even the simplest tricks give a sense of reality and depth. In reality, there are few shots in the film where you get to appreciate the effort.

Ron Cobb said that the special effects department got sick of waiting for a decision on the Nostromo and they just went in to the studio and grabbed drawings. The picture they used had the ship coloured yellow, so that's what they did.
It was resprayed but it would have been interesting.

Its a weird place we are in. Sci-fi is great and i still think, wouldnt it be awesome to do this to make that.
Now that we have socalled ai, including the infrastructure but not enough water or electricity, i do think we should think abt ppl first and not the quick buck from toys.
