I am still haunted by this poem, "The Myth Was Never The Unicorn," written by one of the teens who participated in the creative writing program at the museum this summer. A reminder that girls are always aware.

Read the full piece and listen to the author recite it: journey75.org/2025/the-myt...

I think it's now possible to make a poli-sci course that equips one for modern political analysis better than most classic theory and has a syllabus sourced entirely from random internet posts.

Such an absolutely perfect MAGA paragraph. The leopard nibbling on him. "The Americans." The wife sensing danger and stepping in to try and protect her family

Today they’re making up high numbers to increase funding.

Someday they’ll have to make up low numbers to preserve morale.

Every non-fascist in America: screaming to Democrats, screaming till their lungs are raw, for someone to round up the thugs and felons in charge and put them on trial and throw them in jail

Pundits: Should Democrats focus on immigration or the economy?
"In polls of Trump's immigration policy, voters generally oppose deporting residents who have been in America for more than ~5 years, deporting people where it would separate children from parents, and deporting people who have not been convicted of crimes other than illegal entry."
Should Democrats focus on immigration or the economy?

This is a very important observation, that highlights Stephen Miller as the top enforcer (and possibly _de facto_ chief) of the Executive. His wishes are equated with the President's and everyone in the administration is terrified of him
Something I hadn’t appreciated from the initial story is that Waltz adds Stephen Miller to the group *after* JD Vance had started questioning the plan and while Waltz is in the process of arguing back at him. It’s shortly after this that Miller swoops in with his reading of the president’s mood.
