Having to watch a bootlegged copy of a video from another country because my country censored it is making me feel as if I'm living in 1980s Eastern Germany.

A criminal PARTY. Republicans could stop the kidnapping, imprisonment, and torture of people any time they want with congressional orders. They could stop the consolidation of media empires to hide the truth. Instead they choose to allow it. We are the bad guys because of them.
It’s the year 2025 and Americans have to watch a bootlegged international version of a news program because it was censored here in our country to protect a criminal president.

All of these bootlegged copies of the 60 Minutes segment flooding my feed (saying, ‘Watch it quick! Before it disappears!’) makes me feel like I’m in the Soviet Union and just got some black market foreign newspaper I need to hide under a floorboard in my house.

This is where America is now

Seriously not far from how MSM seems to cover all of this. Fucking embarrassing.

That said, bravo for stuffy old 60 Minutes that I haven’t watched in decades for showing some guts. And good job Bari Weiss for making me want to watch a 60 Minutes segment.
The Trump supporter who runs CBS news just killed a story about Trump’s favorite torture prison. Here’s why America has a liberal media bias problem.

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

My mom, after having taken care of her parents’ estate when they passed, has literally told me she’s trying to spare my wife and I the difficulty she endured. My god our country really is awful anymore.
“I’m trying to set myself up to be less of a burden ...”

More baby boomers and Gen Xers are sifting through paperwork and making other end-of-life plans to ensure their children aren’t left with the financial and emotional toll of caretaking.

I feel so sorry for everyone being overtly attacked by this monstrous administration: trans people, Hispanic people (hell, any non-white people), women, etc. It’s all so callous and unnecessary. I’ll keep trying to help however I can, but my warnings went unheeded for decades, and I have little left
All the anti-trans stuff this week (really, this whole year and the past several leading up to it — but especially this week) has taken a real toll on me.

I feel so sad, scared, and angry. I feel like I don't belong in this world, and that really sucks.

FYI, this booing is because the GOP passed a procedural vote on the GOP "health plan" (which doesn't include ACA subsidies) and they iced out Dan Goldman's no vote because he was late. The ACA discharge petition vote won't happen until 2026 because there's a 7-day waiting period once you hit 218.

The media needs to stop writing headlines like “The CDC changes course on vaccines and autism” and “The CDC defends measles response”.

NONE of this is coming from legitimate scientists at the CDC.

ALL of it is coming from RFK Jr.

Every such headline is causing further harm to public health.

And it’s most likely going to happen. The government is overrun by grift, so nobody is stopping this.

I sure hope someone else has fight left in them to push back against all of this crap, because I’m exhausted, and everything I’ve tried to do to stop this was laughed off.

Republicans use the "I'm not familiar with that" dodge several times a day now, and if a reporters or anchor isn't ready and willing to shut them down as soon as they try it, that means they're either incompetent at their job or a willing accomplice to the lies.

Either way, never trust them again.
If they pretend they haven’t heard about the story of the day, end the interview right there.

“I’m sorry, Senator, we wanted to get your perspective on this story, but it seems you’re not fully aware of what’s going on.”
