My first pseudoscorpion observation was pure luck. Happen to see this wasp and took a shot. It was only later did I see what was hanging on the antenna.

On iNaturalist [ www.inaturalist.org/observations... ]
A brown pseudoscopion hanging on to the antenna of a wasp. The wasp is yellow with black stripes and transparent wings.

Our DNA library is made possible thanks to the support of our funding partners.

Today’s featured specimen is a parasitic wasp from the Nixoniidae family, collected in Limpopo, South Africa. This record was made possible through funding from the New Frontiers in Research Fund.

🍄🧪🚨GLOW-IN-THE-DARK TREE SCIENCE🚨🧪🍄

Scientists have identified 125 species of bioluminescent fungi, and there are likely many more. One of the latest discoveries is a species that doesn't just glow on its own -- trees interlaced with its filaments also emit an ethereal greenish light (!!)
Glowing from Within - bioGraphic
With more scientists and artists turning their attention to bioluminescence, new information about glowing fungi is coming to light.

Millipede fans rejoice: we published our revision of Apheloria! This is the most common cherry millipede genus, but its taxonomy has been riddled with nebulous subspecies names. No longer! We clarify species limits and provide a distribution map. mapress.com/zt/article/v... @apheloria.bsky.social

Phylloteras sigma (Cynipidae). Currently my favorite local gall because it's so darn cute. You can find them on the undersides of white oak leaves in the eastern United States, and apparently also in Chicago. Likely elsewhere but they are tiny and easy to miss. #galls #wasps #cynipidae #insects

Got my walnuts on a bed of vermiculate and sand. In case anyone cares, it's so that I can collect several hundred pupae of the walnut husk maggot fly, which I'll then use as bait in the spring to attract the tiny wasp that parasitizes them. The wasp digs down into the soil to oviposit. 🌿 #wasps

I will forever remember Jane, her inspiring stories and her powerful message of hope, but also her humour, smile and the fun that we had.

With a twinkle in her eyes, she once said to me: ‘The chimps would have the time of their lives grooming you’. Best compliment I ever had. 🐵

This will appeal to like 4 of my friends out there. But this is a live Nosodendron (beetle) larva. Nosodendron means 'sick tree', and true to its name these were found in a black, moldy wet area around an injured beech root. Enjoy!
