The neighborhood smells like hot dogs. The ice cream truck is out playing its song. People are sitting on their stoops soaking in the evening sun. Despite the horrors, the vibes can’t help but be good.

Dropkick Murphys just had an epic moment at their show:

They made a friendly wager with a fan in a MAGA shirt—“Let’s see where it’s made.”

Then they checked his MAGA shirt tag…

Made in Nicaragua.

They swapped it with a Made in America Dropkick Murphys tee.

Legendary.

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start

Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.
More accurate, fewer words;

"There are plenty of contractors going under".

A friend furloughed 75% of staff (furlough w/paying for health insurance for three months), 50% exec pay cut, 25% rest of staff to keep as many people w/salary.

PS: Wasn't 18F a government office, not a contractor.

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation.

I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

1. The US is not a trusted ally

2. Zelensky is a hero

I think the worst thing about this is seeing how many people lack empathy or at the very least are too wimpy to say or stop anything even if they think it is wrong.

Living with ptsd is fun because when you’re stressed about things that are out of your control— like the collapse of your government— your brain very helpfully reminds you of other terrible things that happened. While you sleep. Now you’re stressed AND exhausted! Good job, brain. We’re winning now!

So can we all agree that if people start losing their homes to a recession we are all gonna band together and buy it back at the auction for a penny while threatening any rich person who tries to come buy it up? Like, this has been done before. We can do it again.

Veterans deserve the best health care available. At a time when the VA is already understaffed, these layoffs will hurt veterans. Unacceptable.

Trump must not cut VA health care so that he can give tax breaks to Musk and other billionaires.

The VA must rescind this order.

Yet the program has cost taxpayers $86M, three-quarters of which has gone to consultants, and enrolled less than 3% of the quarter-million Georgians eligible.
Georgia Touts Its Medicaid Experiment as a Success. The Numbers Tell a Different Story.
Only 6,500 participants have enrolled in a program that has cost taxpayers more than $86 million — a warning for other states looking to impose restrictions on Medicaid in a second Trump presidency.
