I wish A24 films had a Marvel Studios Fanfare-style opening with all their famous characters flashing through the logo. Marty Supreme, Black Phillip, the Spring Breakers, hot dog fingers, humanoid lamb, Ava from Ex Machina, Toni Collette sawing her head off...

She is so good, I love these
I continue to be befuddled by where one goes, career-wise, after having developed an absolutely killer Claire Danes impression (this isn't quite the Vaughn Meader career arc), and yet I am still blown away by how well Beth Hoyt does this.

when Spock does the neck pinch, even on bad guys, he always catches them and sets them down very politely. letting this guy fully just drop, leaving Jim to try to awkwardly scramble to catch him, is Vulcan for "it is always morally right to punch Nazis"

Whitlock made "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" into more than a quippy catchphrase. It's Clay Davis' ethos, a justifiably incredulous reaction illustrating how he, and often the audience, viewed the machinations of Baltimore. It's a pillar for the whole fully realized, wonderfully played character. #RIP

So we were basically all ghost-Rick rolled
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.
