At the conclusion of her introduction Judge Reyes emphasizes what's really at stake here:

"Secretary Noem complains of strains unlawful immigrants place on our immigration-enforcement system. Her answer? Turn 352,959 lawful immigrants into unlawful immigrants overnight."

To be a fly on the wall when of plastic face and heart Noem read this.
The government argued that the plaintiffs (all risking loss of work authorization and legal immigration status as of tomorrow) didn't have standing because Haiti might not be that bad or DHS might not target them.

Judge Reyes found those arguments absurd, citing Noem again.

Is this . . . also the balkanization of the United States?
In response to the United States’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization, California announced that it has joined the WHO’s Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network, the first state to do so.

My husband was on the 2 train and a guy started braying about how Renee Good deserved to die and her "lesbian lover" did too. My husband got pissed and said, "You're absolutely disgusting." "Fuck you!" the guy said. "Fuck YOU!" my husband said. The guy left.

See? We just need to talk to each other.

Only a person easily bribed would think that everyone else is easily bribed. $1776 to the soldiers. $1500 to you, to cover a lifetime of medical expenses. $2000 tariff refund.

Obsessed w/ this callout. The same group of students that stayed silent when the ‘big idea’ humanities & creative arts majors were spat on - grew up to say ideas are gone. I think of six impossible ideas b4 breakfast & tech bros would bulldoze the economy & world rather than admit wrong.
Just really awesome how our financial elite just spent the last several decades admonishing people for pursing the humanities and creative fields, and are now suddenly pedaling the idea that "there are no good ideas anymore" after spending the last 5 years laying off everybody with a brain

The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

I relate to whatever neurosis John Green suffers from. Mans got a birds eye view of the world, has been gut punched with a sense of ~time~ but still walks around with a bloody heart in his hands.
