The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

It needs to be asked if this is because the politics of Florida are so fucked up that only old racists want to move there. And with global warming kicking its ass, only people who have tons of cash can afford to forego homeowners insurance there.

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the GOP leadership knows that Trump only has a few more months to live, and they will keep Congress closed until the clock runs out, as if the Epstein files won’t matter then.

“Black Mauritanians aren’t leaving their homes, families, and lives to go on an adventure,” said Houleye Thiam, “They are fleeing to survive, running from a country where Black people are oppressed, enslaved, denied citizenship, attacked, and killed simply for being Black.”
There is no reason for this cruelty. “One day he got 26 letters, leading one of the officers to ask him what kind of work he did. ‘I said, “I work in a dog park, and the community—everybody knows me.”’ ” @mikehalltexas.bsky.social with a story that should outrage anyone who reads it.
