this is accurate. in a sane world i wouldnt give a fuck about jake tapper and maggie haberman and their social circle, because who cares? but the problem is these circles directly affect how the most important issues are covered, and in turn that affects BILLIONS of people.
The endless rounds of discourse about news media personalities can be tiresome because it often feels gossipy.
I have to remind myself that we focus on them because we rely on the news media to act as a conduit to/from people and institutions with power.
And many of them are failing us badly.

Segregationist Herman Tallmadge, governor from '47 to '55 and then a Senator until 1981 made a name for himself by refusing to "apologize for being a white man."
