New 🧬✂️ pre-print! We show that paired prime editing can efficiently generate large deletions — even >1 Mb — with high precision and at scale. We use this to perform the first pooled prime deletion screen across the human genome.

A short thread (by Juliane Weller)👇
Generating long deletions across the genome with pooled paired prime editing screens
Engineered deletions are a powerful probe for studying genome architecture, function, and regulation. Yet, the lack of effective methods to create them in large numbers and at multi-kilobase scale has...

The Key to Enzymatic Degradation of Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT): Influence of Semicrystalline Properties on Degradation
This study demonstrates that enzymatic degradation of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) can be achieved by tuning PBT's semicrystalline properties and incubation conditions. Polymers with a high conte....

I reviewed this work for my lab when it was still a preprint! So happy to see it published now! 🤩
(Also happy to see my good taste confirmed by this being published in Science. Which journal it’s published in shouldn’t matter buuuut… 😬🤷‍♀️)
Anyways, 100% worth reading. It’s a bundle of good ideas!
Curious about how ensembles have shaped our fundamental understanding of enzyme mechanisms? Check out this amazing work led by Siyuan Du, now published! Congrats all!
