Topics under discussion at our project workshop this week at Humboldt University include the place of the ‘unwritten’ in German law; legal populism; the principle of the rule of law; legality; and the legal and political dimensions of unwritten principles.

Bluesky academics, let's get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren't working on but keep thinking about.
Here's mine:
- Whether we can have statehood without inhabitable land.
- The legal-philosophical symbolism in Wagner's Ring.

I’m saying this keeping in mind that this is careful formal writing not a rushed signature.

To me it’s Laurence. Look at the other ‘r’s, for example in ‘Nora’, isolate the ‘r’ in ‘L—rence’ and then see what’s in front of the ‘r’. The only way you can make a ‘w’ is if you take away from the ‘r’. The spelling ‘Laurence’ keeps the ‘r’ whole.

Deeply sad to learn that John Pocock passed away yesterday at the extraordinary age of 99. The greatest historian of political thought of his generation, he was perhaps the greatest historian of historiography we'll ever see. Il miglior fabbro.
