I was a kid once. And my biggest regret in life is that I never got a childhood without pain.

Politicians should never insert themselves into the personal health care decisions of patients, parents, and their providers—and that includes trans Americans.

this is, of course, exactly what republicans have always intended for vouchers to do: defund public education to facilitate the creation of a private system of segregation academies
Arizona, the model for voucher programs across the country, spent so much money paying private schoolers’ tuition that it faced hundreds of millions in budget cuts to critical state programs and projects last year.

In any choice system (chart, mag, vouchers, intra-dist, open enr), schools can make staying so miserable parents “voluntarily” pull kids: think daily calls, endless mtgs, CPS threats over absences. Not valorizing zoned schools as a model of justice, but this is a persistent problem in need of remedy

Amazon claims that running a marketplace gives access to "competitive bidding" all at their website. In reality, Amazon controls what buyers see and how they shop, and reacts to spending habits by maximizing prices. prospect.org/2025/12/17/a...

I remember writing years ago about a then-new initiative by Amazon to disrupt local government procurement of things like office and school supplies. Turns out Amazon's become very popular with school districts, and it's using dynamic pricing to rip those schools off.

Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy.

What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.

When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.

Remember this.

It's bad.
Payrolls fell -105k in October and rose +64k in November. August and September payrolls were also revised down a total of 33k.

These data suggest VIRTUALLY NO EMPLOYMENT GROWTH since April ("Liberation day").

Unemployment is now up to 4.6%.

This is a tricky report, so stay tuned.
