Tonight's film was It's A Wonderful Life (1946). I love this film and I always have.

Last Christmas, @reclusivesocialite.bsky.social got me a whole variety of Japanese Kit Kats. There were a lot of them. I just finished them tonight. The Tokyo Shima Lemon was the absolute best, but I also really liked the wasabi ones.

Is The Breakfast Club the only film that has a universally agreed "glow-up" that makes a character look objectively worse?

Today's film was Dr. Who & the Daleks (1965). A dumb adaptation of a long and boring Doctor Who story that manages to have some sets that look even cheaper than BBC ones. Characters are completely different and the only one what benefits from this is Susan, who now has a spine.

Now that X-Men and Star Trek Lego exists, we can recreate one of the wildest crossovers from the 90's. Ping @xplainthexmen.bsky.social

Tonight's film was Vivarium (2019). I quite enjoyed the atmosphere, acting and the general presentation, but I'm not sure it really succeeded in the themes it was shooting for. Still worth a watch.

Larian’s usage of genAI is by no means close to the worst I’ve heard of (not a defense-just saying) but if companies can learn one thing from this backlash, I hope it’s that nobody wants this and you will actually EARN goodwill (with gamers AND creatives) by outright banning genAI usage.

No words today, all I can do is share something.
a man and a woman are standing next to each other and the woman is wearing a skeleton tank top .

So there is already an ai-generated whitewashing campaign to bury the name of the Muslim man, Ahmed al Ahmed, who disarmed one of the Bondi Beach shooters, and replace his identity with a white guy name and that’s why even a thimble of our potable water powering this tech is too fucking much.

I cannot stress enough to any other Australians to please avoid KWS verification like the plague.

I was checking through what bluesky's verification was and just immediately with this.
If you don't know, KWS had a data breech and it was confirmed user data was stolen that was supposed to be deleted

One of the best-sketched characters in an incredibly character-rich show: a fascist whose (potentially real!) redeeming qualities are continually undercut by his monumental pride, bigotry, entitlement and pettiness
The most realistic scene in DS9 is when Gul Dukat whined about how the Bajorans never erected a statue in his honor. A prophetic text.

Today on Star Trek Adventures, the crew investigated time prophecy malarkey. @bees1000.bsky.social immediately stooged a freighter captain out to the cops, AJ invented the Vulcan Spinaroonie & they made a nemesis out of a Klingon. I'm sure that won't be any issue down the line.

Today's film was Eternity (2025). A cromulent enough film that didn't know who the protagonist was and made not attempt to do anything interesting of challenging. Fine but entirely forgettable.
