You are quite right. I think of the parent waving the bottle of Black Daniels “look what I got with the electricity money”! A big help would be teaching parents how to cook, teaching money management. So many do care but simply cannot budget, no one has ever shown them how.

I often boast about being the national schoolboy public speaking champion in my youth. Just in case anyone at the Times, Telegraph, Mail, Spectator etc is preparing a humiliating exposé, I would like to clarify that it was the 1988 English Speaking Union National Schools Public Speaking competition.
Truly shocking that Rachel Reeves had the audacity to call herself the U14 girls chess champions when she won the U14 girls chess championship but some bloke thought she was talking about something else.

As with Rayner it just shows how desperate they are to find real dirt (because mostly the current gov are just good but fallible people), meanwhile the same "journalists" let Farage's racist comments and deliberate fiddling of stamp duty off the hook.
