I was interviewed by PIX11 for this article about how the Trump administration is trying to deport asylum-seekers to random third countries like Uganda, Ecuador, and Honduras.

It is one of the most horrifying things I've seen in immigration court, and I do not say that lightly.

Here are the 28 Dem Senators who voted to advance the first federal ban on trans athletes & a federal definition of sex that would make trans & intersex people non-existent: Angela Alsobrooks (MD), Tammy Baldwin (WI), Richard Blumenthal (CT), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Chris Coons (DE), ->
By a vote of 76-23, S 1071 passes the motion to proceed to the motion to concur. Won't know who voted for this until the roll call is uploaded, but safe to say it passed with the support of at least 24 members of the Democratic caucus. (Rand Paul probably voted nay and Steve Daines has been absent).

it is terrifying and awful that this passed the House with any Dem support at all (and once again, the continued leadership support for Cuellar is unconscionable)

call your senators and make absolutely sure this dies in the Senate, lives are on the line

trans people deserve so much better
Henry Cuellar, Don Davis, and Vicente Gonzalez joined Republicans in voting to criminalize trans health care.

The bill passed only 216 to 214.

4 Republicans voted no. If they did too, it would have failed.

During a particularly bad pain day last week, I splurged and bought myself a made to order fancy occasion dress. Since I ordered it in December, I expected to see it next year - but I just got an email notification that it's been assigned a tracking number for shipment!! Very excited

I've now read 50 books in 2025 and I'm hoping to make it through a couple more before the year ends
I have read 25 books so far in 2025. That was my reading goal for the year; everything from here on out is gravy.

My nephew: Are you a girl or a boy?
Me: a boy, I used to look more like a girl but then I turned into a boy
Nephew: How???
Me: I went to the doctor and they gave me some medicine
Nephew: …
Nephew, bragging now: I’M a boy and I didn’t even HAVE to go to the doctor

a judge purporting to "correct" a years-old order by materially changing it, in a way that could result in a person's immediate detention and deportation, without notice or an opportunity to be heard, is some seriously autocratic shit
TL;DR: Abrego was released from custody ~4:45pm yesterday. DOJ gave him an order to show up at Baltimore ICE at 8am today, and then got a 7pm order from an immigration judge purporting to correct the original 2019 withholding-from-removal order so that they could remove him now. It's blocked.
BREAKING: At 7am ET, in response to the emergency overnight filing, Judge Xinis issued a TRO barring the Trump administration from re-detaining Abrego Garcia.

A very nice person sold me this perfume for $50 today (both of us fully aware of the price) because it didn't work for her skin chemistry and she wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it properly. I will!
