Seriously, I hate saying "just do the things" because it feels redundant and reductive, but... This is really it. You just need to stop saying"what if" and start putting in the work.
It might take a while - but once it's done, you'll have learned skills to make your next attempt faster and better.

There were only ever a handful of best sellers in the US. The JPN market also consolidated around shonen. Most of what got published during the boom DID NOT SELL.
