I feel someone out there should make tee shirts with “Mark Carney is my President”. C’mon, we all think that at least a little right now.

“It’s measles. It’s been around forever. I don’t think it’s a big deal.”

Since I’m the lefty liberal, I’m supposed to work harder to change attitudes like this? When a cult couldn’t care less? How?

I'm sorry, but isn't this just the Cultural Revolution 2.0? Why on earth would fired aid workers and NIH medical researchers go to work on assembly lines for worse salaries in jobs they don't know how to do? Why are they getting their economic policy from Mao?

Everything in this piece is direct and implores us to focus. For example: “To save institutions, it’s important not to fall into the trap of being divided by policy. Unite with people who disagree with you on everything, so long as they agree with you that democracy is worth saving.”
„The first six weeks of Trump’s second term have taken a wrecking ball to core principles of democracy, including the notion that presidents can’t just do whatever they want, facilitated by the whims of the world’s richest man and his borderline adolescent tech world cronies.“
I wrote about how Trump is destroying American democracy, along with eight crucial lessons about how to counteract it, drawing on my 14 years of studying brave pro-democracy opposition movements in authoritarian regimes across the globe. We’re in serious trouble, but there’s still hope.

Yes, @schatz.bsky.social is unusually quiet. Tough to explain your vote, senator? It should be.
Hey @schatz.bsky.social, I know you're hiding from Bluesky, lately, but a lot of people would like an explanation for why you just handed the GOP the power to continue wrecking what's left of our democracy.

@schumer.senate.gov I am disappointed and furious with your capitulation when Democrats needed you to fight. I am ashamed you are my senator and that you are the titular minority leader. You deserve neither of those positions and I will do everything I can to make sure your remaining tenure is hell.

@shaheen.senate.gov Shame on you for your cloture vote today. Since you’re retiring you had no political reason for doing this and for helping a fascist regime solidify its power. NH deserves better.

@peters.senate.gov Shame on you for voting to advance the Republican CR. There is no mandate from the American people for anything in it and you caved. This is your parting gift to Michigan? Good riddance.

@schatz.bsky.social Your cloture vote today was disgraceful. Hawaii needs a new senator and I will work with every fiber I have to make sure that happens.
March 14, 2025 at 9:31 PM
@markwarner.bsky.social @senatorheinrich.bsky.social @gallego.senate.gov Vote NO on the CR! This is the power you have so use it. Do not capitulate.
A shutdown starts at midnight tonight, and there is still time to reject the GOP's harmful, partisan slush-fund for Trump and Musk.

Their CR also would impose draconian spending cuts on Washington, D.C., which would be devastating for children in the nation’s capital.
