I wish we could staff and empower the federal IRS in the same degree as the NY State Department of Taxation and Finance. EVERYONE should pay the taxes the law says they owe. No tax dodging, no layer of shell companies, no tax evasion. The wealthy typically underpay.

It just seems weird to me that you can engage in an extraordinary mid-decade re-redistricting to alter the status quo, then say the courts can’t enjoin it because everyone’s relied on the new maps that have never been used & can’t handle using the existing districts.
