I'll be honest. I'm not doing great right now. I'm scared about the violence that's coming. I'm despondent and painfully frustrated about the preferential treatment being given to such a bad person over children and other victims because they aren't considered important. Everything is overwhelming.

But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

One thing I think people need to get used to is that not everything works out the way it did in the past and, indeed, new things are going to burst forth from this chaos that can be energising and, I believe, lead to better things. And at the very least we may see some smarmy perverts proven wrong
