If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

Why is the AI company Nvidia pushing for a 10-year ban that'd stop states from putting in safeguards around AI?

Because they want to shape the rules so they can make more money.

This is just one more example of Nvidia putting its profits over consumers and national security.

Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

Right: UCL research showed the opposite

1. I've come to detest the defeatist claim, attributed to various authors, that “it is easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism”. Of course you can't imagine the end of capitalism if you don’t know what it is! But as soon as you clearly define it, you can see how it ends. 🧵

1. One of capitalism’s greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that “there is no alternative”. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. 🧵

The Trump regime's repeated attacks on "DEI," "wokeness," and the trans community have one clear purpose:

If we are angry at each other, we don't look up to see how big corporations and billionaires have rigged markets and siphoned off most of the economy's gains.

Why is Zuckerberg kissing Trump's ring?

Perhaps it's because of the FTC's antitrust lawsuit against Meta.
