Look, I have a lot of friends who have PhDs in Atmospheric Sciences. They're smart cookies. I've met some NASA PhDs, including a well known heliophysicist. They're a step above the grade. They exist on another level. 2,000+ is a MAJOR brain drain. Bad!

The Press is weaker than it ever has been in America, and that’s a big part of today’s problems. My dad was a sheriff and used to say: the most powerful person in town is (the newspaper publisher). Local papers kept local authorities honest and strengthened MSM. Now they’re gone, MSM owned by a few.

A fully staffed USFS could manage CA wildfire risk two ways:
1) Our R&D scientists can model and map where fuel treatments would be highly effective
2) Our boots on the ground NFS staff can implement R&D recommendations
We don’t have enough of either— no thanks to Trump— so CA burns instead 😕
